The GHH Centers of Excellence (CoE) IT Account Manager position is part of the Client Services organization within Global Human Health IT. The incumbent will be a leader of the GHH Centers of Excellence IT account management team and will be assigned to the Global Medical Affairs, Global Tender Management, and Business Development/Social Media stakeholders and initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for relationship management, subject matter expertise and business case development in support of the assigned areas. The incumbent will also contribute to the creation and maintenance of the GHH Centers of Excellence account plan, business and IT strategy, capability roadmap and strategic portfolio. The incumbent will partner with business clients, enterprise and divisional IT, external experts, and customers (as appropriate) to drive innovation, data driven insights and decision making, business value realization, and enabling business strategies through technology.

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Partner with senior business executives within the Global Medical Affairs, Global Tender Management Center of Excellence and Business Development/Social Media organizations to define the business strategy to differentiate Merck on a global scale

- Translate GHH CoE business strategies into IT solutions, programs, and capability roadmaps to enable and advance Merck’s business goals

- Lead IT account team responsible for IT program execution and roadmap completion

- Pull-through IT strategies for greater business value over time

- Develop GHH CoE business cases that drive the IT portfolio and achieve alignment with the business.

- Responsible (with GHH CoE business colleagues) for change management, helping to accelerate technology adoption and benefit realization

- Responsible (in partnership with GHH CoE business and finance colleagues) for capturing the value from IT investments (every last dollar over time)

- Develop strategic partnerships to maximize-the-size-of or shorten-the-time-to value

- Define realization metrics, track realization, report realization, and ensure execution of project/program is delivering business realization goals.

Qualifications

Education requirement:

- Bachelor's Degree. Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field preferred.

Required Experience and Skills:

- At least 5 years work experience in IT account management, business architecture and analysis, and/or client relationship management within the pharmaceutical industry

- Demonstrated success building and maintaining credible strategic relationships with business clients and IT areas

- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration

- Business acumen, stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and strategic account planning

- Inquisitive - ability to ask the right questions to shape the IT-enabled business strategy

- Demonstrated experience in business case development and financial modeling, including management of value realization metrics

- Broad end-to-end process, functional and data knowledge

- Awareness of relevant industry business, information and technology trends, in and out of Pharma

- Systems Thinking / Hyper-connected – a relentless ability to connect people, processes and information

- Energetic self-starter with demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and complex environment

- Ability to manage through ambiguity

- Ability to identify and influence the changes necessary to ensure solution adoption and value realization

- Fluent in SDLC best practices including experience applying in regulated business areas and processes

Preferred Experience and Skills:

- Demonstrated thought leadership and technology innovation

- Knowledge of digital asset tools and IT architecture

- Network leader - focus on influence rather than control, and creating a work environment based on trust, sharing and collaboration

- Experience in running complex workshops aligning people, process and technology.

- Six Sigma Certification or similar experience with other process improvement methodologies

Location:

- Kenilworth, NJ / Upper Gwynedd, PA flexible – but key business leaders are in both. Regular travel to both sites is to be expected.
