Lecturer in Law (several posts available)

The University of Bristol Law School is a leading UK law school with an international reputation for outstanding teaching and research. The School seeks to recruit lecturers to join our thriving academic environment and contribute to research and teaching therein. We embrace excellence in all its forms and welcome applications from across the range of subject areas and research methodologies.

There are four full time posts (1 FTE x4) available, however the School is open to requests for part time working.

Applicants should have a completed PhD in law or equivalent, or be close to completion by the post start date and have a strong honours degree at undergraduate level in law or a law-related subject or equivalent. Applicants should also have demonstrable ability to produce excellent research leading to publications of 3* or 4* quality by REF2014 standards; a planned trajectory of high quality publications over a significant period; demonstrable experience of successful teaching or tutoring at university level or equivalent and; an ability and willingness to contribute to teaching on the core undergraduate curriculum.

The posts are available from 1 August 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.  The posts are located on Pathway One and will be appointed at either Profile Level b (Lecturer, grade J) or Profile level c (Lecturer, grade K) of the University’s Academic Pathways, depending on the relevant experience of the successful candidates.

The closing date for applications is 23:59 on Tuesday 3 January 2017.  It is expected that the final selection process will be held on Wednesday 1 February 2017 and Thursday 2 February 2017.
