Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Engineering and Physical Sciences

Job Purpose

To contribute to the delivery of the EU-funded FUTURING project.
To create and disseminate knowledge through initiating and conducting original research and through publication

Person Specification

To plan and carry out research, using appropriate methodology and techniques.
This includes:

• • To plan, publish and/or execute high quality research
• • To develop novel methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research being pursued
• • To apply knowledge in a way that develops new intellectual understanding
• • To contribute to developing new models, techniques and methods
• • To participate in the process of acquiring, analysing and interpreting necessary information and thus formulating, ensuring appropriate techniques, adequate models for re-industrialisation and the circular economy
• • To present findings in high quality publications and conference proceedings
• • To pursue research including developing research ideas
• • To supervise and examine PhD students, both within and out with the University
• • To provide expert advice to colleagues and students within discipline
• • To contribute to the administration/management of research across the Department/School
• • To contribute to some administrative activities within the University, typically relating to research
• • To deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines.
