Wellcome-Trust funded Research Associate positions in structural molecular biology available immediately in the Berger group at the School of Biochemistry, University of Bristol UK. As part of a dynamic team, the Research Associates will combine state-of-the-art structure determination (Cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography) with cutting-edge recombinant multiprotein expression (MultiBac) and functional analysis to discover mechanisms of gene regulation and complex assembly in human cells.

Experience with structural biology techniques (Cryo-EM and/or X-ray) and a strong protein biochemistry background are essential, knowledge of human General Transcription Factors (GTFs) is highly desirable, experience with insect cell expression (MultiBac), tissue culture and cell biology techniques is desirable.

The Research Associates will be based in the newly refurbished Berger laboratory and work in a highly collaborative setup including structural, molecular, synthetic and cell biologists within the BrisSynBio Centre, a leading UK and international centre of excellence (www.bristol.ac.uk/brissynbio). BAG access to high-brilliance X-ray beamlines and Cryo-EM (Titan Krios/DED) at the Diamond light source is in place. We are seeking to fill the posts asap.
