Minimum Requirements:
Professor
- A Ph.D in Communication in Teaching Education (Sociology of Education/History & Comparative Education/Psychology of Education)
- At least five (5) years lecturing experience at University level
- 10 to 15 research publications
Associate Professor
- A Ph.D in Communication in Teaching Education (Sociology of Education/History & Comparative Education/Psychology of Education)
- At least five (5) years lecturing experience at University level
- 8 to 10 research publications
Senior Lecturer
- A Ph.D in Communication in Teaching Education (Sociology of Education/History & Comparative Education/Psychology of Education)
- At least three(3) to five (5)years lecturing experience at University level
- At least 4 research publications
Lecturer
- A Master’s degree in Teacher Education
- At least one (1) year’s lecturing experience at University level
- Experience in research is an added advantage
Additional recommendations
- Understanding of Tertiary Institution imperatives e.g SAQA, NQF and current trends in the South African context
- Experience in e-Learning
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet use
- Experience in programme accreditation
- Experience in curriculum development and mixed mode delivery
Summary of duties
- Undertake teaching and assessment duties in Teaching Education
- Undertake research activities
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department
- The successful candidate, if appointed as a lecturer, will be required to complete a Doctoral degree within five (5) years of appointment
Salary:
- Lecturer: R258924 to R466512 p.a, plus benefits
- Senior lecturer: R289164 to R502140 p.a, plus benefits
- Associate Professor: R374076 to R560772 p.a, plus benefits
- Professor: R411852 to R664632 p.a, plus benefits
