The University of Queensland's Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) is a leading global life sciences research institute committed to improving quality of life through research. The role

The successful appointee will be joining a team that is focused on developing and characterising molecular probes and therapeutic lead ligands targeting peptidergic GPCRs.  The appointee will be responsible for the pharmacological charactisation of these ligands to guide ligand design, peptide synthesis and other functional assays (e.g. wound healing and stability assays).

The person

Applicants should possess a degree in the area of Molecular Pharmacology /  Biochemistry or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/ or training. You should have demonstrated knowledge in the area of GPCR Pharmacology as well as experience in cell-culture handling, using HPLC and peptides. You should have a combination of well-developed laboratory skills and the strong desire to problem solve and rapidly learn new skills and concepts.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $62,716 - $70,241 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $73,378 - $82,182 p.a.).
