Job Details
Job Purpose
The role holder will provide technical support particularly for in vivo research projects aimed at determining the role of tertiary lymphoid structures in autoimmune diseases such as Sjogrens syndrome. The majority of the work will involve experiments using genetically modified mice and the successful applicant is expected to become a key part of all in vivo research within the group. Furthermore, with appropriate guidance from the PI, the role holder will also help in collaborative studies with other research groups at the University of Birmingham . Other lab management roles will be included within the position. This post is funded by ARUK for 4 years
Person Specification
Degree or equivalent professional qualification (B.Sc. or B. Tech) in an appropriate subject or extensive relevant experience
- • BSc in a biological science subject or similar or equivalent laboratory-based experience
- • Experience of in vivo laboratory work including hands-on experience of regulated procedures with mice
- • Ability to organise and manage own work load and demonstrate flexibility in terms of work practices/requirements
- • Ability to work under minimal supervision but function as part of a team
- • Ability to provide support and training to other researchers in the group as needed
- • Knowledge of current relevant H&S policies
- • Proficiency in commonly used software packages
