Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI)

The Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI) is a strategic initiative of The University of Queensland, reflecting the growth in biotechnology, biomedical and materials research requiring advanced imaging capabilities.  As a leading imaging research facility in Australia, and one of a handful in the world, CAI brings together the skills of a critical mass of researchers and 'state-of-the-art', world- or Australian-first research imaging instruments.

The role

Provide support and advice to prospective students on behalf of the Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI) teaching programs, including course information, enrolment, examinations and other student administrative processes, university rules, policies and procedures and academic progression.

The appointee will provide day-to-day administrative and event management assistance, and support to the Head of Education at CAI to manage the administration of Teaching and Learning related activities, including the coordination of CAI's postgraduate coursework programs.

Support the Course Coordinators in the management and delivery of individual courses, including ensuring timely preparation and distribution of the program material. Liaise with relevant Faculty staff and coordinate the CAI's involvement with Faculty academic activities.

Facilitate student enrolments and process applications for cross-institutional enrolment, academic credit, exemptions, and deferrals using SI-net. Coordinate the preparation and marking of exam papers, assessment results, and grade upload process, administer and coordinate short course workshops.

The person

Completion of a degree in Business administration or related discipline, and prior experience in student administration area. Possess the knowledge and understanding of university policies and procedures, relating to student enrolments, examination processes and general student administration processes in a tertiary education sector, and the ability to provide sound advice and support to students and staff.

Excellent communication and organisational skills, event management experience, together with high attention to detail, the ability to prioritise competing work demands, and the willingness and ability to accept responsibility.   Must be able to demonstrate initiative, with the aptitude to work independently or within a team. You must be self-motivated with good problem solving skills, together with excellent initiative, awareness of cross-cultural differences, judgement and a strong work ethic to achieve the outcomes of the centre programs.

High level computing experience in Microsoft Office suite, university systems such as BlackBoard, UQ Online Application system, e-learning platform, multi-media software, student administration /Information systems (Si-NET) and reporting software such as Business Objects.

Remuneration

This is a Full-time, Fixed Term appointment for two years. The remuneration package (2016 pay rates) will be in the range $62,716.31 to $70,241.69 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $68,674.36 to $76,914.65 p.a.).
