Assistant Officer (post level 13) (contract appointment – 2 years)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and generate content on all digital platforms.
  • Disseminate information on programmes and student life on digital platforms.
  • Design target specific creative campaigns on digital platforms.
  • Answer queries / questions from prospective students received via social media.
  • Maintain new undergraduate website.
  • Assist with ad hoc recruitment and marketing events.
  • Direct face to face marketing of UFS programmes when requested. 

  • Inherent requirements:

  • Relevant B-degree.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a social media marketing environment.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in website management.
  • Driver’s licence.

  • Required competencies:

  • Knowledge of integrated and relationship marketing.
  • Fast and accurate writing and editing skills.
  • Appropriate communication skills for the youth market.
  • Demonstrate exposure to student marketing.
  • Communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment.
  • Excellent computer skills; MS Office and Photoshop.
  • Pro-active, independent, keen on detail.
  • Creative skills.
  • Focused on customer care

  • Recommendations:

    • Creative portfolio to demonstrate experience in the marketing of digital platforms.
    • Graphic design.
