Job Details

PolicyBristol aims to enhance the influence and impact on policy and practice of research at the University of Bristol. We are seeking an excellent individual to help coordinate PolicyBristol’s programme of activities and publications that will significantly increase the status, impact and awareness of policy-relevant research at the University. Target audiences include: international, national and local government; public sector; think tanks; practitioner groups; the private sector; and the media.

The Coordinator’s responsibilities will include: developing policy briefing papers, supporting policy engagement activities, delivering training sessions, and overseeing online and social media activity. PolicyBristol’s remit has recently expanded from its focus on policy-relevant research within social sciences and law to cover all disciplines across the whole University. Alongside the Director and the wider PolicyBristol team, the role holder will also play a key part in formulating the strategy for PolicyBristol’s next three years.

You should have excellent communications skills – both oral and written – and be able to assimilate and synthesise large amounts of complex information into accessible language suitable for different audiences. The Coordinator will liaise with academics and external stakeholders on a daily basis, so strong interpersonal skills are essential.

This position is part-time at 0.6FTE (three days/week); you will be job-sharing with another Coordinator who is also 0.6FTE. The post is open-ended, with funding until 31st July 2017.

For informal queries please contact Dr Deborah Wilson, PolicyBristol Director, d.wilson@bristol.ac.uk

Interviews to be held on: 19th January 2017
