Job Details
To teach according to a set syllabus, and to support the faculty in pursue of achieving its academic objectives, and to contribute to academic initiatives undertaken by the faculty to enhance teaching and learning environment.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in Film, or Media Production
- At least 2 years relevant working experience as a professional film editor
- At least one year' teaching experience in higher education
- Substantive experience of the standards and practices of the film industry
Recommendations:
- An undertaking to enrol for a postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Studies
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
- Effective teaching of film editing and basic film effects to Advanced Diploma level
- Effective Management of Marks Administration system and Blackboard System for Editing courses
- Assisting students with editing of projects and productions
- Participate in curriculum development
- Liaise with industry and professional interests groups
- Participate in Research
- Participate in Quality Assurance activities of the Department
- Substantive contribution to co-ordination of student projects and productions
- Substantive contribution to departmental service learning projects
- Management of the Film Programme's edition suite, and contribution to the upgrading of facilities on an on-going basis
- Provide appropriate academic and administrative leadership in the department
- Perform other functions as may be assigned by the HOD
