This is a brand new opportunity to join one of the few companies in the Automotive Coatings market who are actually in a phase of growth at the moment and are heavily investing in their technical team, particularly within Research and Development, to help them expand their product lines, provide a greater range of product offerings to their customers and help boost their market share in one of the most competitive markets for Paints & Coatings worldwide.

The company hired a highly motivated and hard working R&D Director at the start of 2016 who is making waves in the company through his innovative approach to R&D, his dedication to promoting from within and providing extensive development opportunities for the R&D team, as well as his drive to make the company the go-to supplier for Automotive OEMs. As a result of his work, the company is starting to see progress in the market and has already seen massive improvements internally from their R&D and sales teams.

Your role in the company will be to develop their Basecoats range for Autmotive customers which will involve a lot of hands-on formulations development work both for their existing range and for new products launching to market. In addition, you will also have to work closely with Automotive customers on-site, particularly with their applications engineering teams, to provide technical training and input, get feedback on their requirements and then bring that back to the lab to make sure you are supplying the best products for their needs, so you will actually be able to build a network of contacts in the Automotive Industry.

Requirements:

  • Completed practical training as Lacklaborant
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Research & Development
  • Excellent practical knowledge in developing waterborne coatings
  • Previous experience developing Automotive Basecoats/Clearcoats/Topcoats preferred but not essential
  • Fluent German
