The Protein Expression Facility (PEF) is a UQ central facility that offers extensive research services in recombinant protein production to academic and industry researchers. Located in AIBN, the Facility provides the complete infrastructure and training for recombinant protein expression and purification. The role

The successful appointee will provide support in recombinant protein purification at the UQ Protein Expression Facility. This position is responsible for conducting protein purification and characterisation, performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and developing novel strategies to streamline protein purification processes. The position will also help train and supervise professional staff and students in protein purification.

The person

Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. You will have demonstrated proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques and protein expression and purification. Your ability to plan and conduct research projects and effectively write reports and present research results make you an ideal candidate for this position.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597 - $72,348 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,579 - $84,648 p.a.).
