The IT Strategy, Policy, and Planning (ITSPP) Directorate is responsible for strategic IT leadership across the University, to develop the University IT Strategy, and to actively support the implementation of the strategy. This incorporates coordination of and engagement with the University community on strategic IT requirements, contributing to increasing the effectiveness of the IT function across the University

Python developers with an interest in research, science, and innovation are sought to establish a high-profile open-source product that will help connect researchers with the works they create.

A two-person team dedicated for eighteen months to this initiative will be based at the University of Auckland and supported by an engaged Product Owner and a distributed Advisory Group.  This role is responsible for developing software solutions that solve real business problems and deliver value. To do this, you will be called upon to engage in all aspects of the software development lifecycle to ensure that the best possible solutions are achieved.

This is a rare opportunity to lead an open-source project, and to contribute to and benefit from the successful delivery of an exciting new capability that will enhance research, science, and innovation throughout New Zealand and around the World.
