We are looking to appoint a talented accountant to join our Finance Services faculty teams, which support the University’s faculties, schools, departments and business units. Faculty finance teams make up 89 of the 176 finance staff and are responsible for the financial administration of the faculties and schools, including all externally funded research grant accounts both pre and post-award.
Deputy Faculty Financial Controller
1 x 1 FTE to 31 December 2018
Finance Services has a vacancy for a fixed term 1 FTE Deputy Faculty Financial Controller based in a Faculty finance teams in central Bristol. This is an extremely varied role involving significant interaction with faculty and school management teams and other key academics. The job holder will oversee the efficient management and operation of the faculty’s financial processes and reporting which will involve revenue, balance sheet and capital accounts. The role includes line management responsibility for a number of finance staff.
You will be an experienced qualified accountant, with an aptitude for working with both finance and non-finance specialists. Additionally you will have management experience and ideally have experience of large and complex organisations. You should be an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills and must be able to identify solutions and influence and persuade at all levels of the organisation.
