Student Recruitment Officer

Purpose

To work as part of the Student Recruitment team to promote all facets of Rhodes University as an excellent institution of Higher Education to prospective students. To travel around South Africa visiting schools to achieve this objective. To be responsible for the planning and organization of your own visits. To liaise with prospective students and answer online queries. To organize and manage campus visits programs to the University. To initiate and coordinate all marketing and promotional material for student recruitment.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required and between 3 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -

• Previous marketing and/or training experience
• Previous experience organizing events
• Previous administrative experience within a computerized administration environment where the use of Word, Excel, Email and the Internet formed a key part of the responsibilities

The following would be advantageous: -

• A background in teaching/education.
• Some experience in marketing and organizing of events.
• Knowledge of the Rhodes environment either through having studied at Rhodes or having worked at Rhodes.
• Ability to communicate in another official language.
