Job Details
Requirements:
Matric, a relevant accounting degree or diploma and at least two years relevant experience. Previous experience in a university environment dealing with academics, students and outside vendors/donors will be an advantage.
The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, a high level of computer literacy and excellent organizational ability. S/he must work constructively as part of a team, yet be able to manage issues independently. The candidate must display initiative, an ability to work to deadlines as well as prioritise (and re-prioritise) issues as the need arises. Accuracy and attention to detail is of utmost importance.
Duties:-
Processing of School’s financial expenditure.
General financial administrative duties including the processing of claims, sourcing of quotes, general procurement
Processing of all travel arrangements required in the School, including the sourcing of quotes from relevant vendors for flights, accommodation, car hire and shuttle transfers.
Facilitating relevant per diems for travelling staff members and allocation of costs to various RINC and NRF accounts as required.
Maintenance of the School’s fixed asset register. Accepting delivery of procured assets ensuring that they are correctly tagged and allocated on the register in compliance with university policies.
Providing the necessary administrative support on projects as they arise.
Adhering to university deadlines.
Assisting the Senior Finance officer during budget periods.
Preparation of ad-hoc reports.
