Job Details

The Office of the Director, Gatton Campus is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective operations of the Gatton Campus of The University of Queensland, supporting academic teaching, research and community programs.  The Director's portfolio includes responsibility for the Gatton Dairy, Pig Unit, Equine Unit, Cropping Unit, Grazing Animal Unit, Queensland Animal Science Precinct, UQG-VEC and the Halls of Residence in addition to administration functions and OH&S.

The University of Queensland Gatton Farms is located on the UQ Gatton Campus.  The farms cover 1,054 hectares and include a dairy, pig unit, poultry unit, sheep and goat herd, horticultural fields, plant nursery, post-harvest facilities, research laboratories and greenhouses, and an extensive range of plant and farm machinery. UQ Gatton Farms is spread across two locations. The main area of activities is on the Gatton Campus with another farm, Darbalara located 7 kilometers from the main campus.

The role

The roles will assist Unit Supervisors and the Farms Manager with the day to day operations of UQ Gatton Farms Dairy, Cropping and Pig Units.

The person

The successful candidate will have completed a trades certificate or certificate III in a relevant field, or completion of a year 12, or certificate II with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Remuneration

This is a fixed term (12 month) appointment at HEW Level 3. The remuneration package will be in the range $50,769 - $56,359 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $59,399 - $65,941 p.a.).
