Job Details
Applications are sought from clinicians who are committed to academic careers in cancer-related health care (including oncology and primary care related disciplines). We are seeking outstanding individuals who wish to pursue a period of full-time research working towards an MD. An option to extend to a third year towards a PhD may also be possible.
In addition to working within the Leeds Institute of Cancer and Pathology (LICAP) the fellow will collaborate with other academic teams at the MRC Medical Bioinformatics Centre which forms part of the Leeds Institute of Data Analytics (LIDA).
Applicants will be medically qualified, GMC registered (or international equivalent; please note that GMC registration will be required before clinical duties can commence), and should preferably be a Member/Fellow of a UK Royal College (or international equivalent). Experience in health informatics or clinical research is not essential, as appropriate training will be provided as necessary. Candidates will, however, be expected to display an enthusiasm for learning relevant new research techniques.
The successful candidate will be awarded an honorary contract with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post is available immediately for a fixed term of two years and will be based at both St James’s University Hospital and the Leeds Institute of Data Analytics on the University of Leeds main campus.
