Job Purpose

To create and disseminate knowledge through initiating and conducting original research, through publication and through developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as appropriate to mathematics. In addition, to contribute to the School of Mathematics through management/leadership, as appropriate.

Person Specification

  • A PhD in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science
  • Extensive research experience and scholarship within the area of modern statistics broadly defined, including: any area of statistics; probability theory; computational data analysis; machine learning; stochastic modelling; stochastic optimisation; or related areas.
  • Proven ability to devise and manage learning/ research.
  • Skills in managing, motivating & mentoring others successfully.
  • Evidence of leadership in case of Grade 9
