Applications are invited for a NERC-funded Research Associate / Senior Research Associate for two years, based in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Bristol.  You will use satellite observations to understand the processes contributing to volcanic unrest and eruption and the implications for time-dependent hazard.

You will work within the NERC Centre for the Observation and Modelling of Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Tectonics (COMET) and with the NERC-ESRC funded STREVA project, which aims to develop and apply a practical and adaptable framework for volcanic risk assessment. You will also join the award-winning Volcanology and Geophysics research groups at the University of Bristol, and will interact with the Cabot Institute. The School of Earth Sciences was rated joint second in the UK Research Excellence Framework (REF2014), with 98% of our research output graded as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
