Formulations Developer, Niche Coatings Market, Freiburg

This is a brand new role for a well known company that deveop, manufacture and sell their own range of coatings systems for Industrial, Automotive, Light & Heavy Vehicles, Medical and Protective markets. As part of their R&D team focusing on the Medical market, you will be developing a brand new range of formulations for a range of novel applications including devices which are used to aid humans in their day-to-day lives both inside and outside the body, a highly regulated but very high-tech sector with a huge range of benefits.

The company you will be working for are currently diversifying their product portfolio and their sales teams have targeted the medical market as a key growth industry for them over the next 5-10 years, so you will be one of the first people working on these products in the R&D team. As part of a brand new team of 7 people, you will be working with a wide variety of development experts in the field of surface coatings, allowing you to learn from them and to become a technical expert in this field.

With a diverse team of people from 28-42 years with an equal male & female split and a range of technical backgrounds, you will be part of an interesting laboratory work group who offer a varied working environment, making your day-to-day work a lot more fun and engauging. Reporting to the R&D Group Leader for Medical Coatings you will work with him closely to define which projects you work on and develop strategies for your development & growth, allowing you to have an impact on your own future career progression.

The company you will be joining are a family-owned coatings manufacturer who have experienced tremendous growth in the last few years, picking up where their competitors have left off, so they have been able to grow their R&D department to cover a lot more projects. Based in the Freiburg area of Germany in the heart of the Black Forest, they are in one of the nicest locations in the country which offers great transport links to Switzerland as well as a lot of outdoor activities like Skiing, Hiking, Climbing and Mountain Biking, allowing you to enjoy your downtime and create a good work-life balance.

Requirements:

• Completed practical training as Lacklaborant
• Minimum 1 years industry experience developing coatings formulations
• Practical knowledge of formulating waterborne coatings systems
• Experience with plastic or metal substrates preferred
• At least B2 level German speaking
