A postdoc position in image processing / computer vision is available for a highly motivated and talented computational researcher with extensive expertise in live cell segmentation, tracking and quantitative analysis from time-lapse fluorescence microscopy images and movies, to join the groups of Professor Rafael Carazo Salas (http://research-information.bristol.ac.uk/en/persons/rafael-e-carazo-salas(a7638b29-53e4-49ba-82b5-98b21d82f41f).html) and Dr Eugenia Piddini (http://research-information.bristol.ac.uk/en/persons/eugenia-piddini(d9edf159-92ca-4b42-8bd6-6dbe1de23195).html) in the University of Bristol and work on in close collaboration with experimentalists.
The goal of this interdisciplinary project will be to investigate how the differentiation propensity of different human stem cell lines differs through the cell cycle and across cells/cell lines. The project will involve extensive use of quantitative high-content microscopy and large-scale, automated image processing, tracking and analysis of live cellular population images.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Computational Image Processing, Computer Vision or a related subject, have an excellent track record, have extensive experience with computational image analysis of time-lapse microscopy cellular data, and be excited to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Experience with high-throughput/high-content microscopy is a plus.
