Job Details

Part-time 60% of full time equivalent

Are you passionate about ensuring an exceptional experience is delivered for students? Do you have the ability to build credibility and trust with a wide range of people? Are you highly organised and able to work independently whilst exercising initiative?

You will lead on the coordination of a British Heart Foundation (BHF) basic science PhD studentship programme and a clinical PhD studentship programme on the topic of cardiovascular disease. You will have a key role in establishing the programmes and contributing to their ongoing development.

You will establish effective working relationships with students, staff and external advisors and contacts to ensure the programme runs efficiently and to encourage sharing of information and development of best practice. This will involve working as part of a team, generating ideas and taking initiatives on a regular basis, often with minimal supervision. The programmes are based within the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine (LICAMM) but the intention is to also promote these programmes to other departments, faculties and the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.

The University of Leeds is committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offers a range of family friendly policies. The University is a charter member of Athena SWAN and holds the Bronze award. The School of Medicine gained the Silver award in 2016.  We are committed to being an inclusive medical school that values all staff, and we are happy to consider job share applications and requests for flexible working arrangements from our employees.
