Salary range: £56,000 to £60,000 per annum

The Aga Khan University International (AKU-ISMC), in partnership with the Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) and the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF-UK), is looking to appoint a Head for their joint Information Technology (IT) department in London. 

AKU-ISMC and AKF-UK are part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a private network of development agencies, led by His Highness the Aga Khan and working particularly within Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South Asia and the Middle East. The network focuses on health, education, culture, rural development, institution building and the promotion of economic development in some of the world’s poorest and most perse regions. The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) in London, UK is a sister institution also funded by His Highness the Aga Khan.

Responsibilities The IT functions within AKU-ISMC, IIS and AKF-UK are currently being brought together under a joint management structure and the incumbent for this position will report to a joint Steering Committee serving all three institutions. The IT department will go through major change processes in the next two years as the institutions prepare to move from their current location in Euston to a purpose-built site at King’s Cross in mid-2018.

Requirements

The three institutions are looking for an inpidual with project management and change management skills, as well as strong experience of managing and implementing Information and Educational Technology solutions within higher education. 

The AKU-ISMC and IIS currently offer postgraduate level programmes, short courses and other educational activities. The institutions are looking in the near future to adopt new and innovative educational technology solutions to enhance their offerings including but not limited to the provision of digital and e-learning.
