The School of Veterinary Sciences new Risk and Resilience Hub is starting an exciting new programme of research exploring the factors driving antimicrobial resistance among resource poor communities in the global South. We are currently seeking a part-time Research Associate to develop and support this program.

Our project explores the social, behavioural and environmental factors forging the rise in antimicrobial resistance among subsistence farming communities in India and Kenya. The part-time position (.8FTE) is funded by ESRC and involves overseas fieldwork in Kenya and India. The RA will also be involved in organizing and delivering workshops and other project-related engagement activities. Applicants will have a PhD in social science, or related discipline. They will have experience conducting research overseas, and be familiar with both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and statistical analysis; they will be able to demonstrate an effective contribution to the delivery of research projects; will be able to work effectively in teams; and will possess excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills.
