The role

The successful applicant will work with Professor Virginia Slaughter and colleagues on the ARC Discovery project 'Do theory of mind delays explain children's social problems?'. The role involves psychological testing of vulnerable young children with disabilities (such as deafness and autism) in schools. The appointee will be involved in research data collection in specialist bilingual units for deaf children where a signed language is the medium of instruction.

The person

Applicants should have an honours degree in psychology, be trained and experienced in working with children with deafness and/or autism, have comprehension skills in signed languages, and be sensitive to the needs of vulnerable groups with urgent educational requirements.

Remuneration

This position is a part-time (10 hours per week), fixed term appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597 - $72,348 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,579 - $84,648 p.a.)
