Organisational Performance & Improvement

The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading University.  We employ over 5,400 academic and professional staff to support over 41,000 students, making us one of NZ’s largest employers.

The University of Auckland is seeking a part time Administrator to support activities within the Vice Chancellor’s Office.  This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the inner workings of New Zealand’s leading university!

In this role, you will provide high quality reception services at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, undertaking a range of activities including:

  • Greeting all visitors and directing them appropriately to meeting rooms/offices;
  • Attending to room bookings;
  • Updating the University Glossary and web pages.

We’re looking for a friendly, confident individual with at least three years’ experience in an Administration, Receptionist or Executive Assistant role. Your ability to think on your feet, take the initiative and multi-task will be central to succeeding in this fast-paced, political environment.

Furthermore, as you will work part time hours to share this full time role with one other staff member, you will need to be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail in order to effect a smooth handover to your colleague.

In return, this role may offer opportunities to take on secondments into Executive Assistant positions in the Office of the Vice Chancellor. You’ll also enjoy all of the wider benefits of working at the University, including 5 weeks’ annual leave, 300+ courses and workshops designed to support your personal development, and standout facilities for employees who are also parents.

Please note that you will need to be able to work fixed hours of 23.75 hours per week, 8am – 12.45 pm, Monday to Friday.

Professional Staff Level 3

The University has an equity policy and welcomes applications from all qualified persons.

The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and achieving equity outcomes for staff and students.

Applications close on Sunday 22nd January 2017.
