Campus Life - Student Health and Counselling

The University of Auckland has a culturally diverse student population of 41,000, including nearly 6,000 international students and 2,500 who live in University accommodation.

The University Health & Counselling Service delivers a range of primary care services to help students prevent and overcome personal difficulties relating to their physical and mental wellbeing, and in so doing helps them to achieve their full potential at the University. 

We have x2 available vacancies:

  • x1 permanent 0.7 FTE GP role for our City campus. Must be available to work a Friday and one evening session 12-8pm (preferably a Wednesday).
  • x1 permanent 0.2 FTE GP role based at our Epsom campus but with flexibility to work at the City Campus also. This role will run from mid-February til the end of November each year, with 2 and a half months off over summer.


We are seeking GP's (FRNZCGP) with current MCNZ registration. Experience working with youth, and those with a particular interest in mental health and sexual health, are likely to find the role and case load stimulating. 

You will report to the Medical Lead, and work closely with the Counselling and Nurse teams to ensure a cohesive approach to the delivery of holistic and integrated University Health and Counselling Service.
