The Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland is the highest rated arts faculty in New Zealand, and ranked among the world’s top 40 faculties for humanities and social sciences by the QS World University Rankings. We are a large and diverse community offering comprehensive study opportunities and engaged in internationally respected academic research in a variety of disciplines.

As part of the faculty’s Communications and Marketing team you will play a crucial role in promoting our study opportunities, academic research, events and achievements. As one of two Content Writer and Coordinators, you will be responsible for producing excellent materials to engage and inform a variety of audiences and reflect our outstanding reputation.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Producing engaging, informative and user-focused content for both internal and external audiences, including potential and current domestic and international students.
  • Writing, editing, co-ordinating and proof-reading content in a range of formats across both print and digital platforms, including social media and web pages. Note that this role has an emphasis on the production of printed materials, ranging from marketing materials and prospectuses to informative student handbooks.
  • Managing multiple content projects and the production of publications alongside our Graphic Designer.
  • Liaising with other staff and internal customers across the faculty and University.
  • Ensuring that materials are in line with University guidelines and policies.


An accomplished writer with excellent written English, you will have a passion for communicating in a variety of formats, an exceptional eye for detail and great proof-reading skills. We’re also looking for someone who is energetic, hard-working and committed to quality and customer service. You’ll need to be highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and projects, keep calm under pressure and meet deadlines.

You will be working in a small and collaborative team where flexibility and a sense of humour are essential. You’ll enjoy a friendly and supportive environment with opportunities for professional development.
