Research Fellow in Experimental Hip Replacement Simulation

Job Details

Are you an experienced and ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge?  Do you have a background in bioengineering or biomechanics?  Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

You will support the collaborative development of advanced experimental simulators and experimental methods for preclinical evaluation of hip intervention therapies in collaboration with Simulation Solutions Ltd and DePuy Synthes. Working within the Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Medical Devices, you will work collaboratively with researchers involved in experimental simulation and with colleagues at partner organisations to design, develop, manufacture, and evaluate standard operating procedures and generate pilot performance data on standard hips and compare with previous data, for an electromechanical hip simulator system for artificial hip joints. You will also undertake research investigating the effect of design variable and component positioning on the performance of hip replacements.
