Job Details
The University of Bristol's Centre for Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences within the School for Policy Studies is looking to appoint a Senior Research Associate in Statistics/Epidemiology to provide maternity leave cover on the British Heart Foundation funded B-Proact1v study.
The analyses will investigate how children’s physical activity and screen-viewing behaviour change during primary school, and how parenting practices and psychosocial variables are associated with this change. Additional analyses will investigate the associations between physical activity and screen-viewing behaviours and children’s friendship groups (via social network analyses).
Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related quantitative field and a good first degree or equivalent in a relevant biomedical or statistical subject. In addition applicants should have experience in the analysis of longitudinal data in human population studies and in the application of sophisticated statistical methods, resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications; a track record of research in a related area; and evidence of excellent organisational skills.
This is a part time (0.6 FTE), fixed term maternity cover position. This post is available from 19 April 2017 – 17 April 2018.
