The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading University, in the worldwide Top 100. We employ more than 5400 academic and professional staff to support over 41,000 students, making us one of NZ’s largest employers.

Within the Business School, the Graduate School of Management (GSM) delivers the MBA, Post Graduate Diploma and Executive Education programmes. Executive Education helps over 2,000 professionals annually to improve their individual and organisational performance in both the private and public sectors. We offer a comprehensive range of short courses and tailored learning programmes for individuals and managers at all levels to help them achieve business and personal growth. Over 53,000 professionals have attended and benefited from our programmes since 1996. Our programmes improve the management, leadership, performance and competitiveness of both private and public sector organisations across New Zealand.

The Business School is seeking a Programmes Advisor to join the Executive Education team in the GSM on a 10 month fixed term contract to effectively support the delivery of these programmes. There is a possibility this could be extended beyond the end of 2017.

What do we need from you?

The main purpose of the role is to provide professional advice to assist individuals and businesses to choose and enrol in the best Executive Education programmes across GSM and to convert leads into enrolments. As you’ll be following up on leads and prospects with major stakeholders throughout the corporate sector, we need somebody who’s proactive, outgoing and confident; someone who’s not afraid to pick up the phone and use their initiative and influence to hit their sales targets and maximise revenues.

The role has a strong business development focus involving actively pursuing leads to convert into enrolments, responding to enquires, preparing proposals as required, and processing the enrolments. You’ll also develop networks and attend appropriate industry events to generate and convert leads into successful enrolments, long term business and satisfied customers.

Naturally, your communication skills will be first class, whilst your flexibility and ability to work as part of a team to get the job done will help you fit right into our cohesive and sociable culture.

Previous experience in a front-facing, client/stakeholder-focused role is essential to your success in this position. Perhaps you’re coming from an Account Management, Client Relationship Management or Business Development background, with a strong focus on customer service; or, maybe your sales background will define your success in this role.

What’s in it for you?

This is an exciting opportunity join our Business School - one of the largest and most successful in the Australasian region, and the top-ranked Business School in New Zealand! We have an international reputation for excellence and innovation, and for the success of our programmes and partnerships.

This role could be a great stepping stone for you into the corporate sector, as you leverage those relationship-building and networking opportunities to build your professional capability. You can also take advantage of the opportunity to attend sector-leading professional development courses, free of charge, to help your career pathway take you to new heights!

If you are driven, adaptable and have a passion for education, as well as experience which demonstrates excellent customer service and business development skills, we would like to hear from you.

The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and achieving equity outcomes for staff and students.

Applications close on Monday 6th February 2017.
