Coatings Developer, 2 Component Coating Systems, Hamburg

As Coatings Developer you will be stepping into a diverse and challenging role which is primarily focused on new product development and re-development of the existing product portfolio but will also have a hand in applications testing and customer service. With most of your time spent in the laboratory (85%) you will work closely as part of an 8 man team which includes 2 coatings developers, 4 applications specialists and 2 testing experts for fire-protection, giving you the opportunity to maintain your expertise in development at the same time as broadening you technical skills.

You will be joining an SME coatings company which develop, manufacture and sell their own product portfolio on a business-to-business basis. With just under 50 staff and still under family-ownership, the company has a very personal family feel where everyone knows each other and each member of every team is highly valued meaning their staff stay with the company for an average of 10-12 years.

Over the last 10 years the company has seen significant growth in sales revenues which has allowed them to re-invest heavily in the company, particularly in their R&D and Applications teams which means they can deal with an increasing number of customer requests and work on a higher number of development projects throughout the year. One of the major benefits at the company are their flat hierarchies which only includes only 3 hierarchy levels including the CEO, management and their employees. This allows them to make very quick decisions, making them highly reactive to the market so they can outmanouvre their major competitors and develop more business.

Requirements:

• Completed training as a Lacklaborant
• At least 2 years experience in Research & Development
• Proven expertise & knowledge in developing 2k (2 component) Coatings Systems
• Knowledge of water-borne coating systems preferred but not essential
• Minimum B2 level German
