    The Faculty of the Professions is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. It is comprised of the prestigious Adelaide Law School, the School of Architecture and Built Environment, the Adelaide Business School, the School of Economics Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC), Institute for International Trade and the Centre for Global Food and Resources. The faculty offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and has strong connections with business and industry. It offers a contemporary, intellectually stimulating and rewarding working environment.

    The School of Architecture and Built Environment is one of four schools in the Faculty of the Professions. The school offers professionally accredited and internationally recognised programs that specialise in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, property and, with ECIC a master's programme that enables graduates to work as construction project managers. It is a diverse and stimulating working environment, and the school is located at the University's picturesque North Terrace campus.

    The School is seeking an experienced academic with a proven publication record in Architecture along with a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in the areas of environment, architectural technologies and digital design.

    You will be responsible for teaching in specialist areas and in design studios across undergraduate and postgraduate levels including the interdisciplinary Bachelor of Architectural Design and supervise student projects and dissertations including the supervision of higher degree by research students.

    Salary: (Level B) $91,393 - $108,532 per annum.

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.

    Term of position: This continuing position is available immediately.

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • A Doctorate in Architecture or a cognate discipline
    • Demonstrated capacity to develop a research profile and contribute to research in the School that aligns with the School's research strengths including a record of producing high quality publications. 
    • Demonstrated ability to make a contribution to teaching in Architecture through a range of learning and teaching strategies particularly in the areas of environment, architectural technologies and digital design.
    • Demonstrated accomplishments in the above areas, with a record of teaching, research, creative, or professional work
    • Demonstrated ability to contribute in a positive way to a team environment
    • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to engage and form productive partnerships with stakeholders both within and outside of the University. 
    • Ability to teach design studio across undergraduate and postgraduate levels including the interdisciplinary Bachelor of Architectural Design.
    • Ability to supervise student projects and dissertations including the supervision of higher degree by research students.
    • Ability to contribute to required administrative tasks within the School
    • A Commitment to the School and the City of Adelaide as a long term career.
