Job Details
Terrestrial temperatures have a large impact on biogeochemical processes and ecosystems, control key-components of Earth’s climate system, and provide a complementary test for climate models. However, past terrestrial temperatures remain relatively poorly constrained.
This research associate position will focus on reconstructing long-term changes in terrestrial climate across the Cenozoic (early Eocene to late Miocene). For this purpose you will apply newly developed organic geochemical proxies and a range of immature lignites (fossilized peat) from around the world.
The post is available on a full time basis on an opened ended contract with fixed term funding for 18 months.
More information about the role can be found in the job description. For informal enquiries, please contact Dr D. Naafs (david.naafs@bristol.ac.uk)
