Energy Centre Manager

The post holder will manage and run our energy centre that provides heat and power to the campus via two CHP units with a total installed capacity of 7.5MWe, additional power being purchased (and surplus exported) via our 132kV Primary Substation.

You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and economical operation of the energy centre, management of the team, who operate the plant on a 24-hour shift system, budgets and ISO accreditations (ISO 14001, 18001, 9001). In additional you will be expected to become an Authorised Person for operation of our extensive High Voltage (11kV) private wire system.

 

Person Specification

You should have obtained HNC in Engineering/Building Services (or equivalent) as a minimum requirement and have substantial knowledge and experience in the operation of maintenance of engineering services and the operation of steam raising boiler plant including a Boilers Operators Certificate and certified courses in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Plumbing to Technician level. You will also have the ability to motivate staff, excellent interpersonal and report writing skills.
