Libraries and Learning Services - IC Helpdesk

The Information Commons Group provides premier student computer and study facilities at the University of Auckland’s City and Grafton campuses and has vacancies for three Libraries and Learning Services Assistants.

We need team players who possess excellent customer service and communication skills, and who remain a confident IT user under pressure. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required, as daily tasks entail frequent movement around the building and some light lifting.

The position comprises regular fixed shifts where you will:

  • Offer a high-quality, student-focused service;

  • Assist patrons with general University and IT queries;

  • Provide supervisory support to Desk Assistants who work during your shifts;

  • Present IC-related Library & Learning Services skills sessions;

  • Ensure core support and administrative functions are effectively carried out; and

  • Handle rudimentary system faults, and basic building & equipment issues.

                          Job Title:  Libraries & Learning Services Assistant

                Usual Location:  Kate Edger Information Commons, City Campus

                                Type:  Fixed Term until 22 December 2017, Full-Time

               Hours per Week:  37.5

  Regular Semester Shifts:  Sun 2pm-10pm, Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu 4pm-12am

         Exam Period Shifts:  Sun-Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu 4pm-12am

  Summer Vacation Shifts:  Sun 12pm-8pm, Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu 2pm-10pm

    Approximate Start Date:  Monday 13th February 2017


Position 2:

                          Job Title:  Libraries & Learning Services Assistant

                Usual Location:  Kate Edger Information Commons, City Campus

                                Type:  Fixed Term until 22 December 2017, Full-Time

               Hours per Week:  37.5

  Regular Semester Shifts:  Tue-Thu-Fri 4pm-12am, Wed 12pm-8pm, Sat 2pm-10pm

         Exam Period Shifts:  Tue-Thu-Fri-Sat 4pm-12am, Wed 12pm-8pm

  Summer Vacation Shifts:  Tue-Thu-Fri 2pm-10pm, Wed 12pm-8pm, Sat 12pm-8pm

    Approximate Start Date:  Tuesday 14th February 2017

 

Position 3:

                          Job Title:  Libraries & Learning Services Assistant

                Usual Location:  Grafton Information Commons, Grafton Campus

                                Type:  Fixed-Term until 22 December 2017, Part-Time

               Hours per Week:  22.5

  Regular Semester Shifts:  Mon-Tue-Fri 7:30am-3:30pm

    Approximate Start Date:  Monday 13th February 2017

       Fixed-Term End Date:  Friday 22nd December 2017
