Environment

With a background in computer vision, machine learning or related fields, the successful candidate will contribute to research and development in the context of automatic analysis of surgical video content. During her/his work, the selected candidate will have to propose innovative methodologies involving and combining both numeric data analysis and semantic data representation. He/she would have to supervise students and/or engineers, communicate and work with the national partners and collaborators on this topic, and develop and validate demonstrators of the developed technologies.

He/she will be considered as a full member of the MediCIS team. MediCIS team is part of the LTSI and the “Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale” (INSERM), which is the leading research institute in medicine in France. MediCIS team is composed of 5 full-time professors and researchers. Its research activities include medical data computing and computer assisted interventions. The team is located at the Medical University and has direct collaborations with surgeons and radiologists, from the University Hospital. We refer the candidates to the MediCIS website for more information: http://medicis.univ-rennes1.fr The MediCIS/LTSI lab, INSERM/Université de Rennes 1 is looking for a research fellow, in the context of a national project in “Connected Optimized Network & Data in Operating Rooms”. The main objective of this project is to develop a new standard approach for videos in the operating room. The more specific objective of this position is to study innovative approaches for automatic analysis of surgical video content.
