Job Details
The post-holder will be part of a large international project to image and understand the properties that define a tectonic plate. A 0 – 40 My old section of the Atlantic plate will be imaged using data collected from a large ocean-bottom passive seismic and magnetotelluric experiment. The emphasis of the analysis at Bristol will be assessing the anisotropic properties of the plate and underlying mantle using a range of approaches. Additional details of the project can be found here: http://www.southampton.ac.uk/oes/research/projects/passive-imaging-of-the-lithosphere-asthenosphere-boundary.page.
