Minimum Requirements
Professor:
- D Tech/PhD qualification in construction management / quantity surveying, or related field, with an undergraduate qualification in construction management / quantity surveying
- At least 10 years teaching/professional experience
- Evidence of a scholarly track record in the form of international peer reviewed publications
- Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision at Masters and Doctorate level
- Evidence of sustained external funding
Associate Professor:
- D Tech/PhD qualification in construction management / quantity surveying, or related field, with an undergraduate qualification in construction management / quantity surveying
- At least 7 years teaching/professional experience
- Evidence of peer reviewed publications
- Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision
- Evidence of external funding
Senior Lecturer:
- D Tech/PhD qualification in construction management / quantity surveying, or related field, with an undergraduate qualification in construction management / quantity surveying
- At least 5 years teaching/professional experience
- Evidence of research and post graduate supervision
Lecturer:
- M Tech/MSc qualification in construction management / quantity surveying, or related field, with an undergraduate qualification in construction management / quantity surveying
- At least 3 years teaching/professional/ industrial experience
Additional Requirements:
- Good communication and lecturing skills
- A strong passion for teaching and research
- Professional registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession / the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions
Summary of Duties:
- Teaching, assessing and supervision at all levels
- Development of learning materials
- The successful candidate is expected to supervise or be actively involved in research in the department
- Assist with administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department or Representative as delegated
- Assess experiential training requirements of students
Salary:
Lecturer: R258 924 to R466 512 p.a plus benefits
Senior Lecturer: R289 164 to R502 140 p.a plus benefits
Associate Professor: R374 076 to R560 772 p.a plus benefits
Professor: R411 852 to R664 632 p.a plus benefits
