Job Details
The University of Bristol’s Veterinary School is seeking to recruit an experienced equine surgeon with energy, commitment and a passion for scholarship to join its expanding equine clinical team working within the equine centre of Langford Veterinary Services as part of the School of Veterinary Sciences.
You will participate in the delivery of a high quality clinical service in equine soft tissue surgery, the delivery of clinical, didactic and practical teaching of undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students and supervision of postgraduate clinical students (interns and residents). You must hold a veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS that allows you to practise veterinary medicine within the UK. The candidate must have experience in the delivery of equine surgical services at a referral level and will have an RCVS, European, American of equivalent Diploma (or eligibility to sit the examinations there for) in equine surgery. Enthusiasm for teaching is essential. Some research experience is beneficial.
The successful candidate will join a team of 5 FTE faculty equine clinical staff, four senior clinical training scholars (Residents) and two equine dedicated interns. The post holder will also be a member of the School’s Comparative and Clinical Research Group.
The level of the tenure track appointment will be made according to qualifications and experience. The appointee will be eligible for an additional veterinary allowance.
