Job Details

Keywords: glyco-chemistry, amphiphilic compounds ; Ionic channels ; cancer ; metastasis, bone metastases, personalized medicine.
This project aims to design new amphiphilic compounds that can modulate the activity of ion channel involved in cancer cell metabolism and bone metastases development. This task will be achieved by modifying the structure of a series of amphiphilic compounds (mainly glyco-lipides) that have already shown outstanding capacity to modulate SK3 channel activity. The modification of their structure will aim to identify the critical moiety required to observe the modulation of ion channel activities and therefore to investigate their mechanism of action. The synthesis of fluorescent analogue will be also investigated in order to track the compound at a cell scale. Finally, a series of photo-responsive analogues will be designed with the aim to develop the first photo-switch modulator of potassium ion channel. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for building together an innovative project to apply for a Marie-Sklodowska Curie European Fellowships to the next call (September 2017). If funded by the European Program, the project could start in May 2018.Full description of the project and team : CHE#1Detailed information about the welcoming and application procedures : UBO-DEI

Applicants must be «Experienced
Researchers» (i.e. by the time of the MSCA deadline, be in possession of a
doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research
experience).
Applicants can be of any nationality but must not have spent more than 12
months in France in the 3 years immediately prior to MSCA deadline.

To apply, please e-mail your expression of interest to anne-sophie.refloch@u-bretagneloire.fr (object of the email : MSCA application), joining the following documents (in pdf format):
-a CV (including a list of publications and the exact date of your stay in each position and/or country)
- a research outline document (up to 2 pages) describing the possible research activities you want to pursue at UBO and identifying the research synergies with the UBO faculty members / pre-identified topics.
