Job Details

Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral position in cell biology to study how pericellular matrix molecules regulate pro-angiogenic or pro-fibrotic signaling events that occur during angiogenic-to-fibrotic transition in fibroproliferative diseases.

The successful candidate will contribute to our understanding of matrix assembly, cell adhesion receptors and signaling associated with regulation of gene expression in endothelial cells and fibroblasts using unique biological toolsets available in the team and state of the art cellular, molecular, and imaging techniques.

This bi-national Franco-Swiss collaborative project, funded by the French ANR-PRCI and Swiss SNF, will allow the candidate to be trained in an international context and at the crossroad of disciplines (cell biology, molecular biology, mechanobiology, nanotechnology, imaging and image processing). The Institute of Biology Valrose (iBV) (http://ibv.unice.fr) is a leading Center for research in Cell and Developmental Biology situated on the Valrose campus of the University Nice Sophia Antipolis.

The Institute offers excellent core facilities, including a state-of-the-art imaging platform, and a dynamic scientific environment in which English is the working language.
The iBV team headed by E. Van Obberghen-Schilling has an expertise in fibronectin matrix assembly and matrix-driven signaling in tumor microenvironments (Cseh et al. 2010, J Cell Sci; Van Obberghen-Schilling et al 2011, Int J Dev Biol; Gopal et al. 2016, Nat Com).
