Job Details

Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Research Associate in the group of Prof Jonathan Clayden at the School of Chemistry of The University of Bristol for an outstanding and ambitious chemist with experience of organic synthesis.

Funded by the EPSRC, the project will involve the development of synthetic methods that aim to use the mechanistically unique reactivity of ureas and their congeners to provide practical, selective, transition-metal-free approaches to the synthesis of functionalised biologically active compounds containing nitrogen functionality, including quaternary amino acids, medium ring heterocycles, and highly functionalised amines.

The post is available on a full time basis, with funding confirmed for 12 months. More information about the role can be found in the job description. The grant is led by Prof Jonathan Clayden (j.clayden@bristol.ac.uk) who can be contacted for informal enquires.

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture.  We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
