Instructor/Senior Instructor, the Department of Community Health Sciences

The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. The department comprises four major operational units: Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health systems, Population and Reproductive health and Environmental health sciences.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• teaching and facilitating Biostatistics related courses in graduate and undergraduate programmes 
• undertaking independent research and/or participate in research activities and contribute to their expansion and success particularly related to Biostatistics
• carrying out assigned administrative responsibilities related to teaching and undertaking other scholarly activities
• participating in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities. 

Requirements

You should have:

• MBBS or BScN with a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent (e.g. MSc Epidemiology & Biostatistics/ Health Policy Management) from an HEC recognized university
• relevant  teaching experience at graduate level with demonstrated professional accomplishment and evidence of successful performance in teaching Community Medicine/Health Sciences
• knowledge of  teaching skills, methodologies and practices 
• proficiency with current research methodologies 
• ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing with course participants 
• good academic writing skills 
• language proficiency in English and Urdu; ability to communicate in other regional languages would be an advantage
• proficiency in use of related computer software packages
• good conceptual, analytical, planning and organizing skills 
• good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
• commitment to learning, growth and self-development.
