Job Details

General
Acoutect is an European training network that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie action (H2020-MSCA-ITN-2016). Acoutect marries “Acoustics” and “Architect” and responds to the important role that Acousticians have in the design of modern buildings. The Acoutect consortium is composed of top universities, research institutions and companies in various disciplines and sectors of building acoustics and beyond. Within Acoutect we are seeking for 15 early‐stage researchers (ESRs) for a duration of 36 months to join the different research positions offered by the Acoutect Consortium in Europe.

Training programme for ESRs
Acoutect project includes a comprehensive and coherent scientific and transferable skills training programme for the ESRs. The training is provided via the individual research projects, summer schools, courses, workshops and secondments. The main goals of the training are:
provide ESRs with the prerequisites to undertake research and development in the field of building acoustics, ensuring acoustic quality of modern and future building concepts,
built excellent perspectives for a career of the ESRs in industry or academia within the area of building acoustics.

Job conditions
Each host organisation will appoint the successful applicant under an employment contract with a very competitive salary. The fellow is expected to join their host organizations starting from July 2017 (estimated time). Additional funding for participation to courses, workshops, conferences, etc. is ensured.
Almost all positions include a doctoral track and the successful applicant will be registered for the PhD program at the host institution. If the doctoral track requires a longer duration than 36 months, the details and financial implications can be found in the individual vacancy sheets.
EU eligibility criteria for candidates
The applicant may be of any nationality but in order to be eligible for the positions the following criteria applies to all applicants:
The applicant shall at the time of recruitment be in the first four years of his/her research career and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.
The applicant must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in the country of the host institute for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment.

Candidates profile
The positions are highly multidisciplinary and we are looking for candidates ranging from MSc or MEng in acoustics, mechanical engineering, solid-mechanics, materials, building physics, physics, computational engineering, computational mechanics, computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, psychology, psychoacoustics. Detailed descriptions of the desired candidate profile are given for each research project at www.acoutect.eu.
All candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English.
All consortium members are equal opportunity employers.
