VACANCY: LECTURER – EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT POSITION NUMBER: PC11137

Minimum Requirements
-
Masters in Early Childhood development
-
Three years Early Childhood development experience in a schooling and/or higher education context
Job Specification
-
Knowledge of CAPS in the foundation phase of schooling
-
Knowledge of the ECD from birth to 4 years is a strong recommendation
-
Expertise in curriculum design and programme development is a recommendation
-
Registration with SACE as a recommendation
-
Proficiency of teaching strategies, methodologies, and programme evaluation with a specific focus on ECCE(0-4 years) for both contact and ODL(open distance learning) modes of delivery are preferred
-
Skills in liason with colleagues and stakeholders to develop, align and present an ECCE academic programme
-
Capable to deal effectively with the wide-ranging administration obligations, reports, yearbooks, information booklets, and official communication linked to programme development and implementation
-
ICT competence is essential for programme development and implementation of the NWU e-learning management platform
-
Working closely together with colleagues and stakeholders to assure a quality programme development and implementation process
-
Leadership capabilities to initiate innovation and action for programme development and implementation
-
A supportive approach for students in both the contact and ODL modes of delivery
-
Computer profiency with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as email and internet
-
Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU
