Job Details
The primary aim of this project is to determine the factors influencing sea level rise, including glacio-isostatic adjustment, during the satellite era and eventually, for the 20th Century by combining a range of satellite and ground-based observations within a statistical inference model.
This post requires a background in glaciology and remote sensing. You should, ideally, have experience in the analysis and interpretation of satellite data sets that are used for glacier and ice sheet mass balance. You must have good programming skills. Some experience of numerical modelling or statistical inference techniques would be advantageous. This post is part of a European Research Council grant that includes four other positions tackling different aspects of the sea level budget.
The funding is available to support this for up to 36 months. Interviews are likely to be held in the week commencing 13th March and the expected start date is summer 2017. Informal enquires are welcome, please contact Professor Jonathan Bamber: E-mail: j.bamber@bristol.ac.uk, Tel: +44 (0) 117 331 4129.
The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
