Research Fellow in Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge?  Do you have a background in in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) physics or a related discipline?  Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

With a strong background in working with MRI scanners, specifically optimisation of imaging sequences and application in clinical/preclinical or phantom studies you will support the major international EU-funded research project Biomarker Enterprise to Attack Diabetic Kidney Disease (BEAt-DKD). You will also have experience in computer programming, either with Matlab, IDL, Python or C++ software.

Your role in this project will be: (1) to develop novel imaging biomarkers for human kidneys derived from Dynamic Contrast Enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) data, including recently proposed spatio-temporal kinetic modelling combined with direct parametric reconstruction techniques for 4D undersampled imaging sequences; (2) to support a multicentre study by developing a multi-parametric MRI imaging protocol for human kidneys, including image processing algorithms and quality assurance, translating this across to the other international sites involved in the study, and verifying reproducibility.
